Camaro "Fast Boy Setup"

I am thinking of changing the factory rear suspension setup and going with the "Fast Boy" setup I have heard of. They tell me it consists of taking the left rear leaf and sliding the 2nd leaf, forward 3" so the leaf is underneath the front eye and taking the rear bands off to let the leaves flex. Then you put a monoleaf on the right rear with a coil spring directly on top and float the entire right rear package. My rules state only one shock per wheel and say's nothing about one spring per wheel. My question is has anyone run this setup before? It is easy to do and requires almost zero fab work, would it work well on a 3/8 tight turns dirt track? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
