OBJECTIVE
Reading and interpreting tire temperatures allows you to
determine what your car specifically needs to improve its
performance.
The interpretation of temperatures is based on the concept that "if the load on the tread is uniform, then the temperatures across the tread should also be uniform."
For example, if the tire's air pressure is too high (as seen in this example) then the middle of the tire will run hotter than the two edges.
By carefully extending this same logic, it is possible to determine if your car has the proper camber, springs, gearing or numerous other set-up items.
GOALS
Your tires will develop maximum grip at a specific temperature.
If part of the tread surface is too hot and part of the tread surface
is too cool, then the tire will not develop its maximum force!
Adjusting the air pressure and/or camber will help you achieve the desired temperatures across the tire's tread surface. Additionally, other set-up adjustments will impact a single tire's temperature in comparison to the other tires on the car.
Ideally, your goal would be to have all four tires operating with specific temperature gradient across the tread surface and at the same temperature as each other. This way all the tires would be generating their maximum force. Actually achieving this condition on the car, however, can be very confusing and not always possible due to the number of items that affect the tire's temperatures.
ADVANTAGES
The Tire Temp. Analyzer software uses artificial
intelligence to evaluate a large quantity of information and
decide what should be changed on the race car to improve the tire
temperatures.
You input lap times, track surface temperature and air temperature. This allows the software to see if the resulting tire temperatures will be valid representations of the car's performance.
You also enter wheel temperatures, hot and cold air pressures and tire circumferences, number of heat cycles, and weight on each tire, which are also evaluated by the software's artificial intelligence.
Another big advantage of using Tire Temp. Analyzer is that it compensates for tire cooling while you are actually taking the temperatures. So, even though you use only one pyrometer to actually take the temperatures, the software will think twelve pyrometers were being used at once!
FEATURES
The Tire Temp. Analyzer software provides suggestions for
improvements to your race car as seen in this example.
Suggestions may include adjustments to the camber, tire pressures, sway bar, gear ratio, tire size, weight jacking, or tire compounds. The software might even suggest checking the brakes and wheel bearings or replacing a tire.
Another feature of this product is the on-screen instructions and help. For example, it tells you how to read the grain pattern that develops on the tire's tread surface. This provides you with a logical verification of what the software may suggest as improvements.
This software can be used with 4 wheel independent suspension or solid rear axle cars. You can also use it in road race mode or circle track mode. You can even specify if you must use a "track tire."
Use the Tire Temp. Analyzer software as a valuable addition to your racing team. This new team member will not be distracted or think of something later. You will get the information you need when you need it, NOW!
